Since the CD Chivas USA and United FC partnership announcement on December 6th, 2011, members of both Clubs have been hard at work polishing and executing on the initial plan. United FC Assistant Directors of coaching Bryan Wallace and Joshua Stringer as well as United FC coaches Sean Forster and Carlos Menjivar travled to the Home Depot Center (Chivas USA home field and stadium) where the coaches were given access to observe the first teams training sessions, sit in on coaches meetings, sit in on Q&A with Head Coach Robin Fraser and his Assistants Greg Vanney, Carlos Llamosa, Daniel Hernandez goalkeeper coach, Jim Liston Fitness and conditioning Coach, Academy Director Ted Chronopoulos and his staff coaches, Mike Munoz BU16 and Dan Calichman BU18.
Following the initial meetings, Coach Bryan Wallace ran a full training session for the Chivas USA U18 Academy team at their training facilities in Pomona, while former Chivas USA standout and now staff Coach Alex Zotika in turn ran a training session at the United FC fields for the United FC BU13 team members. Since that time, coach Zotika has decided to join the United FC coaching staff for the 2012/13 season.
On March 14th at 6:30pm Chivas USA Academy Director and his staff will train the United FC BU12's at the Ranch. Please come out and witness this incredible opportunity. Please stay tuned to the UFC web site as in the coming weeks more details regarding the partnership will become visible.
